A wonderful unique ECLECTIC ACCESSORY from the Garo Tribe of remote Arunachal Pradesh.

This is one of the signature jewelry pieces of that tribe. A family in one of the villages hosted me for tea and the young girl kindly agreed to show me their costume and jewelry. Days later in the big city of Itanagar, I was able to buy one of these for my collection.

This is not too old - maybe from the 1970s.

This item has spent a lifetime being used for the purpose of its creation with the original artist/user. Signs of this life lived heartily may be present on the piece in the form of stains, thread loss, loose threads, holes, tears, color run and other imperfections.
