Vintage Ceremonial "Sarita" Cloth Banner from Toraja.

Art created by wax resit dyeing on cotton base.

Estimated to be 30-50 years old.

These beautiful banners serve a variety of ritual / ceremonial purposes and are integrated into the lives of the people.

Saritas may be used to unite a circle of 8 women by draping it over their shoulders during a ceremony.

Excellent condition.

Approximately 640cm in length without the end fringes.
