960 Vintage Rabari Embroidery from Kutch, Gujarat - Chaakla Pair

Superbly Embroidered Chaaklas, Chaakdas or square decorative patches

Used as wall art in traditional Rabari homes

Cotton base - and most probably all-cotton threads.

Superbly executed extremely dense embroidery that at first-glance could be mistaken for applique or rope-work

Artworks of this quality were usually given as dowry.

Age unknown but estimated to be from the 1960s-1970s

Each is about 70 x 66 cm (one is slightly bigger than the other)

One is slightly bigger than the other.
