A rare vintage Saadlo or sari of the Patanwadi or Wadhiyar  Anjhna Patel Community

Exquisite embroidery and stunning drawing. base cloth is hand spun and dyed in corrosive mineral dye.

Very impressive work of art.

Heavily embroidered on the Pallu and shoulder while the rest of the sari has well arranged flowers.

The traditional Rabari motifs are visible here along with very evolved Sathiyos (geometric patterns created according to some algorithm that are usually created on floors and ceremonial plates).

Also has the name of the bride embroidered within.

The Pallu has been enhanced with an additional extravagantly embroidered band.

Some spot wear and damage and a few missing mirrors.

The rough cut as seen in the second picture is intentional and facilitates wearing of the sari the the format that it is wrapped by this group.

Estimated to be from the 1950s-1960s

Length 579 cm

Width 86cm

Imagine the splendour it will add to a room hung up to display the amazing creativity in the pallu!
