EXCELLENT example of Batak weaving with beaded borders, soumac-type end bands, large panel with woven beads AND a tiger bell beaded in!

All in a fabulous Indigo and red base.

The beads are not only woven into the border panels but are also seen on the large end panels AND on the selvedge!

Some missing beads on the selvedge.

The beads make the ends unusually heavy.

Batak textiles are no longer available at the source villages and rarely available with local traders.

An absolutely gorgeous find!
