1768 Antique Tunisian Mushtia Mouchtiya Shawl

A beautifully decorated sun-faded Mushtia Wedding Shawl

From North Africa - Tunisia

Base color is a muted rust and the charming ornament accents are black with white. Note the dot matrix of rows and rows of white with a few black rows.

The uneven fading is probably a result of sun-bleaching from extended exposure.

Rare textile with immense character.

Wool. Accents are probably cotton.

Estimated to be from the mid-1900s

Good condition. Soft floppy handle. Faded unevenly.
