Set of 14 hand carved Phurba
This set is most likely made of Yak bone (but could even be Kapala) each about 2.5 inches long, in the shape of a phurba.
Each piece is intricately carved with Buddhist motifs.
Probably used strung together to form a necklace.
Such pieces probably had great significance in Tantric Buddhism that is practiced in the Himalayan belt.
Estimated to be from the 1800s
Collected from Sikkim
