This lovely Cambodian silk weft-Ikat hip wrapper 'Chong Ka Ben' has a beautiful field!
Note how the direction of the pattern in the ends is different from the direction in the field
Estimated to be from the late 19th century by the previous collectors
Condition is good.
Considering the difficulties faced by the country, it is amazing that such pieces have survived at all.
The glossy sheen is a result of the weaving technique used in Cambodia and makes it difficult to photograph. Therefore photos from various angles and lighting have been provided.
