Striking Antique Temple Textile Printed

This teal & red printed textile has a powerful presence.

Was used in temple rituals to cover offerings. 

Has a palm leaf square stitched on to the back with some text - a label that offers a clue to the history / origin. 

Has a backing cloth and borders that ha been hand stitched. On one edge, cloth of another similar textile has been added. 

 112 cm X 112 cm

Estimated to be from the late 1800s-early 1900s

This is  likely from India and meant for the Ceylon / Sri Lanka market
