Exquisite Antique Palampore Masterpiece Print
A gorgeous floral chintz / palampore fragment that is hand drawn and hand painted
Featuring a variety of flowers in reds and leaves & vines in black
Has a backing cloth and borders that ha been hand stitched. On one edge, cloth of another similar textile has been added.
The dyes are lovely and the cloth has yellowed elegantly with age.
Size of the complete textile: 60 cm x 54 cm
Estimated to be from the mid 1800s
This is likely from the Coromandel coast meant for the Ceylon / Sri Lanka market
