Exquisite embroidery and stunning drawing. base cloth is hand spun and dyed in corrosive mineral dye.
Very impressive work of art.
Heavily embroidered on the Pallu while the rest of the sari has well arranged flowers.
The traditional Rabari motifs are visible here along with very evolved Sathiyos (geometric patterns created according to some algorithm that are usually created on floors and ceremonial plates).
Some spot wear and damage and a few missing mirrors.
One of the longer edges has been cut - this cut is intentional and facilitates wearing of the sari in the format that it is wrapped by this group.
Estimated to be from the 1950s-1960s
Length 552 cm
Width 106cm until some point and then 86cm
Imagine the splendour it will add to a room hung up to display the amazing creativity in the pallu!
