369 SOLD Antique Naga Heirloom Brass And Glass Trade Beads

Sold to a discerning Antique Art-Lover

***

Very Rare!

Superb Brass Naga Head worn as a trophy badge in the olden days by the erstwhile headhunter group.

This ancestral piece has a large metal 'head' medallion (probably brass) and glass beads that were highly valuable as they were used for trade.

Every element in this necklace - the head piece, the beads and the thread are all old.

Note the hole in the mouth - that is symbolic.

An old repair can also be seen at the back.

Large and very impressive. This necklace is a conversation piece - and not just an accessory. Framed this will make a wonderful piece on the walls!

Acquired on a trip to Nagaland in 2010
