The outer face is carved and the inner face is painted

Used as 'book ends' for loose leaf manuscripts which are then wrapped up and secured in cloth covers for storage.

Has lived  a hearty life serving the purpose for which it was made, signs of usage present. Paint chipped in several spots. Some over-staining.
