Bharat Varsha – Ancient Indian Kingdoms

November 26, 2010 1 min read

My education, although I am among the small percent of Indians who have a Master’s, degree, has proven to be highly insufficient since I had no idea that the map of ancient India looked like this:

It provides a snapshot of the kingdoms of the past.

For a collector of coins and other antiques, this provides the context.

It is intriguing  that the asuras, devas, and gandharvas were actually Himalayan tribes…. (assuming that this map is correct).

The map holds more information than I have assimilated since I discovered it. This looks like the beginning of a fun new journey!

Another map of the Indian Empire under the British!!

So many new facts held in this one!
