Amulet Locket with compartment & Inscription.
This large locket with a compartment was probably used to hold a religious object or some prayer.
It has an inscription on one of the faces and contains traces of 'roli' or red powder used in worship.
The underlying belief is that wearing such bespoke pieces would confer special powers on the wearer - such as strength or protection or a customised blessing of fertility or success in a particular quest.
A unique and rare find.
Age unknown but estimated to be 50-60 years old

Has traces of auspicious red vermilion powder.
Minor dents and oxidation all over as seen in the photos.

This item has spent a lifetime being used for the purpose of its creation with the original artist/user. Signs of this life lived heartily may be present on the piece in the form of stains, thread loss, loose threads, holes, tears, color run and other imperfections.
