1754 Old Tibetan Nomad's White Coral Belt

Old Tibetan Nomad's White Coral Belt from Chanthang

Worn as an adornment, this belt is used during festivals and celebrations by the Chanthang nomads of Tibet.

Contains white Himalayan mountain coral. Leather edges. Entirely hand stitched. Stiff and difficult to lay down flat.

Mid 1900s - Fastening ends replaced later.

Belt dimensions: 97 cm x 7cm. With the additional fabric ties + buckle the length is 131 cm. Heavy.

Such pieces are relics of a fast vanishing culture and might never be seen again
