"ONLINE VERNISSAGE SHOWING OF TWO TEXTILES"
SATURDAY MAY 7th, 2022
NEW YORK TIME: 12.30 pm
CALIFORNIA TIME: 8.30 am
LONDON TIME: 5 pm
___
[DURATION: 30 MINUTES]
Wovensouls would like to invite you to an online showing of two antique trade textiles that are under study and appear to have links to Toraja, India and Egypt.
Such music-themed textiles have been seen in important collections, but their history needs further study. The interesting aspects of the two textiles will be highlighted in the Zoom interaction and we hope that the collective knowledge of the online textile community will lead to fresh revelations.
To bring alive the depiction of musicians in the textiles, there will be a Hindustani classical vocal recital by
Ms. Shweta Tiwari
a talented young singer from Benaras that Wovensouls would like to support.
