Superfine embroidery on a Swat SHawl
Although this shawl has never been washed, the pink color has run even in dry conditions during the folded storage of the textile prior to wovensouls' acquisition.
The lustre of the pink is gorgeous and the finesse of the embroidery gives it a satin-like look.
Even after taking the color run into account, this piece is a fine example of Swatti work!
Estimated to be from the early 1900s

Signs of this life lived heartily may be present on the piece in the form of stains, thread loss, loose threads, holes, tears, color run and other imperfections. Therefore the condition must be assumed to be “not” perfect. More photos of such imperfections will be provided on request.
