Superb well-developed motifsthat simply cannot be found in later Shirvans from the 1900s
A number of inscriptions present.
This weaving must be seen as a work of art waiting to be framed and hung up on a wall.
For this beauty is in need of a savior.
The edges have been stitched in as a temporary repair - but some work still needs to be done to bring it back to all the glory that is still left in it.

NEVER thought I'd love fragments...
In the beginning, my eyes had not opened enough... and I could not 'see' the treasures that lay beyond the condition issues. I wonder how many fantastic pieces I passed on - simply because I had the tinted glasses of 'good condition'.
NOW, I can see how the little curves on the standard shirvan motifs make such a difference ... the little extras that have been put into this century-old piece - simply cannot be found in newer pieces. And then the journey of joy in discovering each unusual element is far greater, despite the condition. Now, I love these fragments for their drawing - and for genius creative souls embedded within!

This item has spent a lifetime being used for the purpose of its creation with the original artist/user. Signs of this life lived heartily may be present on the piece in the form of stains, thread loss, loose threads, holes, tears, color run and other imperfections. Therefore the condition must be assumed to be “not” perfect. More photos of such imperfections will be provided on request.
