Note the structure of the stitches in the beadwork - these have all been laid at angles to each other - a technique that is no longer practiced.
Note also the uneven character of the beads that are a mark of the older process of production that is no longer in use.
Saathiyo designs such as these are created on walls and floors using paste or powder by the woman of the house, on a daily basis in the mornings. Some complex patterns such as this one, are reserved for special ceremonial occasions.
Rendering in beads and using the artwork to decorate an auspicious ritual object is done for the wedding of one's son or daughter.

Placed on a home-made frame - no glass present. Will need to be be re-framed.
