1496 Antique Hand Crafted South Indian Temple Box

A superb bone south Indian box with a double lids and a handle

Note the depiction of the Goddess of Knowledge - Saraswati -  on the cover.

Note the amazing attention paid to the details e.g. the claw feet and the superbly crafted curved edges.

May have been used to carry temple flowers(?)
