1798 Antique Tend Band with Pile Weaving with Humans and Camels

Fabulous Nomadic Tent Band with Pile Woven Figures

A complete but small example of a tent band.

Has several figures - 7 adult camels, numerous baby camels and over 10 humans.  The fact that the camels are wearing bags - the squares seen on the sides - is interesting! [See the last photo]

Mixed weave that has a long lush soft pile on a cotton kilim base.

All natural dyes.

Lovely abrash seen in the blue / greens

Good Condition allover.

A little color run at the back that has surprisingly left the front completely unaffected.

Size: 11'8'' x 19.5'' (356 x 50 cm)

Estimated to be from the early 1900s

I am not an expert on the region but it has been suggested that this is a Karakalpak weaving

Very Rare.
