A fantastic emerald green Cambodian silk weft-Ikat Sampot
Fine ikat motifs, some resembling the Phyii Nyak motif of neighboring Laos.
Estimated to be from the very mid 1900s.
Condition is good.
Considering the difficulties faced by the country, it is amazing that such pieces have survived at all.
The glossy sheen is a result of the weaving technique used in Cambodia and makes it difficult to photograph. Therefore photos from various angles and different lighting have been provided. Photos of the folds also give an idea of its various shades from different angles.
