163 Antique Hilltribe Beaded Textile Katu Loin Cloth
Antique Hilltribe Ceremonial Body Cloth with Woven Beads
Gorgeous textile woven with the white beads that look stunning against the dark indigo and red cloth!
This is one of the tribal textiles that I acquired early in my collecting days that made me fall in love with the aesthetics of old tribal textile art.
Used as a wrap over the shoulders, waist & loin.
Note the abrash on the fringes.
The glass beads have been woven (not embroidered) into the textiles
Probably from the Katu or Co Tu people, Attapeu province, Laos or may be from a related Vietnam hilltribe
Estimated to be from the early-mid 1900s
MEASUREMENT : 328 x 27 cm
Now hard to find even at the source
