117 SOLD Double Sided Ajrakh Hand Block Printed with Natural Dyes

Sold to a discerning Antique Art-Lover ***

Beautiful natural dyes.

Classic color combinations.

Traditional Ajrakh motifs hand printed using wood blocks

Created as two panels and then stitched together along the longitudinal spine of the cloth

All these features make it a wonderful textile.

But the feature that makes this a masterpiece is the 'double-sided print'. Both the front and the back have prints that are identical and matched to each other.

This amazing 'dorukha' feature is quite rare.

Unused.

This type of cloth is used by the men of the Khatri community in Kutch.

Made in about 1990-2000.
