Created in an era where images of gods and goddesses were seen in every home in a variety of objects - spiritual or otherwise - to maintain an aura of spiritual purity. May have been used to keep jewels or pouches of coins [no currency notes at that time].

Highly saturated colors

Condition is not perfect as can be seen from the photos. Hinges are not strong.
