Hand Painted, dyed Kalamkari textile from Gujarat
This art form was originally used to create worship textiles called ' mata ni pachedi' used by the vaghri devipujak community
The art then evolved and became finer than ever before and today we have large artworks with extremely fine drawings created in the traditional style using motifs and elements from the olden days.
This exquisite piece has been done by an "master-craftsman" award recipient from the President of India.
One of the finest works by the artist in terms of aesthetic, balance and palette.
The cloth is almost 5 feet tall
The artwork is a combination of hand drawing and block stamping.
Signed by the artist.
Some uneven dyeing / very minor smudging present - all visible in the photos.
Do ask for high resolution photos if needed.
* The image of the artwork in the living room is a simulation provided as an concept and is not proportional to the actual size.
