Beautiful Silk Odhana Shawl from Assam. White base with red and black weaving. Motifs are typical Assamese motifs.

Assam weavings are rarely seem outside Assam as the production is very limited and all the production gets consumed in the home state itself.

The few that reach other markets are among the most expensive handlooms available in India.

Acquired on a trip to Assam in 2010.

Very elegant. Would make a perfect gift.
