This fine Perak head dress is from Changthang / Purang region that is now a part of Western Tibet, China.
Purang women wear two Peraks, one on the head and one on the shoulder each with the flat-shaped hood is preferred.
These Peraks are rarer to find due to political border issues.
This particular Perak is special on two counts. First : there are small coral chains that hang in front of the face like a veil. Secondly there are two rows of pearls that form borders along the hood. Both these features are rare.
This ancestral heirloom piece is a heavy piece and of unknown age.
Rare
Length 90cm including 15cm coral veil
