Exquisitely crafted bead necklace with deer motifs
Deer are considered auspicious in the Tibetan culture and free-roaming deer were seen in the grounds surrounding the Potala palace (personal experience, 2007)
Such intricate crafting is usually seen in only important ritual objects.
Consists of seven bits strung on a red thread.
The bits are heavy and possibly made of copper inners and gilted with gold
Angled so that it sits perfectly on the neck.
Heavy
Rare and absolutely gorgeous.
Has signs of usage.
Probably used in Tibet / Probably crafted in Nepal
Estimated to be from the mid-late 1900s
NOTE: This is not made of gold. But the gilting is good and visually looks like gold.
