1756 Vintage Batik Tulis Kemben Textile - Pair

Pair of Vintage Batik Tulis Kemben Textile

Kemben with their distinctive central plain coloured lozenge are worn by dancers and women of the Sultan's court as garments which cover the top half of the body.

From Banyumasan, Indonesia, 1950s-1970s.

The off white base is hand stamped, possibly from the 1960's/early 70's.

While the black base is tulis hand drawn, possibly from 1950's/60's.

Off white colored batik is good, no visible holes or tears.

A few holes/ slits on the blue.. Size: 1) 1'8'' x 7'10'' (51 x 239 cm); 2) 7'10'' x 1'7'' (239 x 48 cm).

The pair are being offered together as they make a good color combination together and will be ideal for joint display.
