There are two opinions about the origin -  Himachal Pradesh  and Rjput Tribe of Gujarat / Kutch - both known for humongous noserings that often come with their own balancing bits of silver that are attached to the nosering and hang at the back of her head as a counterbalance.

These piece is interesting for the size but even within the category of large noserings this one is outstanding because of the exquisite work done on it.
