Sold to a discerning Antique Art-Lover

***

Tribal Flower Bracelet, Eastern India, late 19th century.

This piece with perfectly crafted individual pieces in a rural silversmith's workshop
is a rare find.

Individual pieces woven together by thread
are a characteristic of gypsy pieces.

In India the gypsy migration route covered Kutch in the West, (flowing in from areas that are now Pakistan), towards Karnataka in the South and another branch flowing towards central India.

This piece is most likely from the Central Indian branch.

Used. Signs of wear. Some threads loose.

Silver content unknown.

Estimated to be from the mid 1900s.
