Superb Silk floss motifs on this antique Thirma Phulkari

Used as a wedding shawl by Hindu families of Punjab.

Hand woven cotton base cloth.

Has lovely green highlights in addition to the maroon!

Age unknown but estimated to be 70-80 years old

Has signs of use - minor stains, thread loss etc.

Thirma Phulkaris - phulkaris with white base cloth - are rare and hard to find as collectors usually are reluctant to part with these.
