833 SOLD Antique Thirma Phulkari with unbelievable silk floss!

Sold to a discerning Antique Art-Lover

***

Maroon Silk floss with Green Accents on White Base cloth.

Late 1800s.

From a Hindu family.

Punjab.

NOTES: The silk floss used in this piece is unbelievable!!

As the thickness of the silk thread used is extremely fine - it appears as though the silk has been pasted on to the base cloth!

The unnamed artists that created such a gorgeous textile using the finest of silk floss deserve awe and respect and their skill deserves worship!

If only they knew that several generations later, we sit here eulogising their work and wishing to kiss their hands in gratitude!
