These were created by women at home, in Punjab in pre-partition India.
The ones that are completely blanketed with silk thread are called Bagh Phulkaris - while the ones with less dense motifs where the background cloth is visible all over , are called Phulkaris. The Wovensouls collection focuses on the exorbitantly embroidered Bagh Phulkaris.
They come in a variety of designs and patterns.
More importantly they come in a variety of stitches - some that take longer to finish.
