Two folios with Illuminated paintings from a manuscript

The paintings clearly tell a story and depict important scenes of the narrative of a Jain subject.

Sold

The script is Urdu and mentions the Din-i Ilahi or religion of God which was a synthetic religion propounded by the Mughal emperor Akbar in 1582 AD and the elements were primarily drawn from Islam and Hinduism with an intention to reconcile the differences that divided his subjects.

One topic in one of the folios is the punishment to be meted out to criminals.
