Lovely old Embroidered "Indhoni" or "cushion-for-carrying-pots-on-the-head" used by women all over Gujarat

This piece is a great example from the Vagadia Rabari group. A photo of such indhonis being used is included.

Superb craftsmanship.

With the arrival of piped water in most villages, the need to fetch water from faraway wells has reduced. But these are still used during the small journey from the hamlet well to the home as water is still not available on individual home taps in smaller villages.

Ornamented decorative ones such as this one are used during the welcoming ceremony at weddings or at any special occasion.
