Such pieces are just not available now. As India prospers and lifestyles change, the old ways have been given up and the biggest casualty is the folk art of rural India.
This animal headdress is from Rajasthan / Gujarat and was probably used on a camel / horse.
Cotton base cloth, leather backing, wool tassels, silk tassels and large mirrors.
Early1900s
Condition is as can be seen in the photos.
Completely handmade and hand stitched.
27cm wide, main headpieceí«í_ is about 24 cm tall (not including the ties and decorative vertical flutes).
This is a rare textile format and is a collectible!

Signs of this life lived heartily may be present on the piece in the form of stains, thread loss, loose threads, holes, tears, color run and other imperfections.
