1097 SOLD Antique Dayak Ornamented Tool Betel Nut Pounder - Borneo

An implement made of two parts:

The top has decorative carving and is made of bone or other organic material and has a metal rod attached.

The second is a hollow wooden container in which the metal rod fits.

It is likely that this tool is used for pounding and powederin betelnut or a similarly consumed item.

About 14 inches long

Estimated to be from the early 1900s

Dayak object, Borneo.
