758 Shekhawati Bishnoi Wedding Shawl - Indian Textile Art from Rajasthan

Superb drawing and motifs on this stunning work of Textile Art!

The embroidery is very fine and each stitch has been laid out with precision.

The cloth has no major tears or damage.

BUT the color of the base cloth has faded unevenly over time, probably through sun-bleaching when it was used by the wearer as a veil to cover her head and back.

The last photo in black and white highlights the pattern / motif / design which is simply outstanding!

There are at least 27 little girls with several camels / goats / donkeys, a few temples and some peacocks that have given the maker, the original user and now us tremendous joy with their sheer presence!

There is also the double headed camel found in many Persian weavings.

A stunning piece and despite its color-condition, this is probably one of the most beautifully rendered pieces in the wovensouls collection.

Age unknown but estimated to be 50-60 years old
