An adornment worn by the nomads from Tibetan Changthang

Made of cowrie shells, bells and leather this is attached to the waist belt or sashand is one of the many accessories worn on the sash.

Very neatly tied rows of even-sized cowrie shells - which were a measure of wealth.

Late 19th century.
