Beautiful Silk shawl or Wrap from Assam in North East India.

Beige background with white supplementary thread weaving.

The silk base is heavy, thick and pliable.

Assam weavings are rarely seem outside Assam as the production is very limited and all the production gets consumed in the home state itself.

The few that reach other markets are among the most expensive handlooms available in India.

Acquired on a trip to Assam in 2010.

Very elegant.
