Old Ikat with anthropomorphic figures

The hierarchical layout is suggestive of an ancestral family tree structure.

At the vertical midpoint, the figures change direction and are placed facing the other set.

A total of 14 large primary figures surrounded by numerous small figures including birds.

The other remarkable feature of this textile is the presence of figures in the borders.

Softened through age and usage. [not stiff or thick like later pieces]
