***

LOT of two antique Chamba Rumal with double-sided embroidery from Himachal Pradesh.

Delicately embroidered Silk Base Cloth Squares with jewel-like colors of silk embroidery

Both have graceful floral motifs & tendrils in the borders.

The embroidery is so expertly done that it is not possible to discern the front from the back. The only clue to this is the stitched hem at the edges of the square.

Very fine base cloth on both.

Dainty shades of silk thread used for the embroidery.

Estimated to be from the very early 1900s
