"The little Koran taken from the Begum of Lucknow’s apartments during the siege used to belong to my late mother, who was born_____ _____ . The male _______ were naval and military officers descending from an Admiral who was made a baronet in 1794 after the Battle of the Glorious First of June. One of the ______ family was married to the who was Governor of Bombay, in the 1830s and after and he was the uncle of General Sir George Malcolm who served in the army during the ‘Indian Mutiny. Possibly George may have been given the document [by the officer] and then gave it to my mother’s great-grandfather..."
