Mirrorwork, dense embroidery and applique work.

Age unknown but estimated to be 50-60 years old

Extravagantly embroidered and embellished with mirrorwork, the motifs on this bag are signatures of identity of the Rabari gypsy tribe

Superbly executed extremely dense embroidery that at first-glance could be mistaken for applique or rope-work

Such fine work is no longer made.

Artworks of this quality were usually given as dowry.
