To be hung over the main door of the house to symbolize ceremonial welcome. Silk embroidery and glass mirrors on cotton cloth. Silk threads colored with natural dyes. Handcrafted by anonymous women of rural Saurashtra, Gujarat in Western India, known for its handicrafts. Late 19th or early 20th century. Especially delicate and exquisitely crafted pendants with embroidery around hundreds of tiny mirrors.
