How long can one ignore a whole continent?
How long can I turn away saying …I don’t really collect pieces from that place.
But I have just realised a moment ago – that by saying that, my selection criteria are a little more stringent and so the pieces that I finally get from Africa give me double the pleasure!
Here is one such piece from Mali – an old Fulani wedding blanket with fantastic work – the artwork is superior to all the other pieces that I have seen on the net!!
Am learning a bit of geography through these pieces!
