1939 Mixed Group of Antique Indian Trade Textile Toraja Fragments

A  superb group of fragments of Indian Trade Textiles from Toraja.

This group consists of five fragments from amazing textiles.

Four appear to be hand-drawn at least partially while the fourth (patola print) is either stencil or block printed.

Each of the fragments selected for this group will make a fine artwork by itself.

Great as study examples or for framing together.

These textile have been saved from a fire - therefore has burn marks present on some. Holes and stains. Edges not even.

The largest is about 27 cm long.

Comparison with other similar examples suggests that these are pre 1900.

[Similar examples have been dated to be from the 13th - 19th century]

This is a rare opportunity to own something as rare and as old as this fantastic little work of art that had traveled from India to Toraja sometime in it's past and then has back to Singapore.

VERY RARE
